It was written by a New Orleans author but went unpublished until his death (from suicide, over depression over the non-published status, if you can imagine). If I remember the story correctly, the author's mother contacted Walker Percy and showed him the novel. Voila! It was published, and it is a riot. Incredibly, indescribably funny.
